The phonetic alphabet is a common code in the army, in which a certain word describes a letter. Alpha, for example, means "A". Once you know the code, common words and phrases can be said using this code. Tango India, for example, could mean "Tank Installment". Knowing this code allows you to say things that others would not understand. Below is a table that describes each letter and its corrasponding phonetic word. Note: The phonetic alphabet may differ from other branches of the military (the Navy, Marines, etc)
