The math curriculum at Thompkins is based on a hands-on integrated approach to learning. The Scott Foresman/Addison Wesley math series guides the math curriculum along with daily problem solving opportunities.

This series is coupled with an Investigations joint usage plan that incorporates manipulatives and focuses on mathematical reasoning. Daily living situations such as taking attendance, snack choice boards, sign-in sheets, et al. are vital components to promoting problem solving in young children.

Math games are also a major component of the math curriculum.  Daily gaming encourages the development of math skills by allowing children to construct math concepts at their own pace.
