Our professional staff consists of one administrator,
twelve classroom teachers, and five special area
teachers. Our classroom teachers average fourteen
years teaching experience with a total of 260 years
experience combined. Our classroom and special area
teachers are highly qualified as well as our
classroom paraprofessionals. Ten teachers hold
Masters degrees, one holds a AA certificate and a
certificate of administration, one holds a doctorate in
reading, and three hold BS degrees.
Two of our teachers have been named
District II teachers of the year. Many of our teachers
have been recognized at the local, state, and national
levels for excellence in their fields.
In addition to involvement with education programs at
local colleges, the staff is highly qualified based on the
NCLB standards in the field of early childhood
education. The staff is actively involved in implementing
age appropriate instructional techniques such as theme
intergration, project-based learning, constructivist
math, and technology integration.
This well trained group of professionals are active in
finding alternative sources of funding through grants
and community partnerships. We are proud to be
business partners with C B & T and Super Sav.
Faculty and parent participation in PAC (Parent Advisory
Committee) help strengthen the partnership between
school and home. Thompkins has an active parent
volunteer group called TOPS (Thompkins Outstanding
Parent Supporters).

Another key ingredient to success at Thompkins is our
support staff which includes a secretary, five
paraprofessionals, two custodians, and our
cafeteria staff.
