Message from Superintendent, Mr. Reeivice Girtman

Dear Eagle Family,

We are thrilled to be Eagles and to be a part of the Eagle family. Ozark has a rich history, and our goal is to help further our success and build on the many accomplishments of the past. We are eager to meet and greet all members of the community in order to learn more about Ozark as we build positive relationships. Ozark’s mission and vision of Eagle Power: Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships is completely aligned with our beliefs. We too believe that successful relationships lead to successful schools. Communities that support their schools have strong schools. As we begin our tenure, we will focus on three things, Engagement, Equity, and Excellence. This focus applies to students, staff, and stakeholders.

Student engagement is critical. We will focus on instructional strategies that provide multiple opportunities for all learners to be actively engaged and prepared for college and/or careers. We will also provide quality professional learning opportunities for all employees. We will engage the community through various modes of consistent communication using social media, school websites, surveys, and communication tools such as Blackboard. My personal goal is to be fully engaged in the Ozark community. This means attending various events, developing partnerships with various groups, and joining many community organizations.

Equity involves being fair and just. It carries the idea of providing each individual what is needed in order for he/she to be successful. We recognize that students are unique; therefore, we will continue to offer multiple opportunities for students to participate in activities that interest them and stretch their unique abilities. Teachers are learners as well; consequently, we will offer rich learning experiences that allow them to thrive as educators. Collecting and using data effectively will allow us to assess the needs of students, staff and stakeholders in order to determine the best and most equitable course of action.

Excellence is always the goal. Excellence requires commitment. It also requires intentionality, focus, and accountability. Our students, staff, and stakeholders deserve excellence in every aspect. When we truly provide engaging experiences, and equitable opportunities for all students, staff, and stakeholders, then excellence will be attainable.  Our students have the ability. Our teachers have the drive and an optimistic attitude. But true excellence will also require active involvement from the community. When we put these together, the end result can only be one of excellence.

We will strive to communicate with you and keep you informed. We encourage you to do the same. Please review our 100 Entry Plan. I encourage you to send me feedback at Your input is valued and very much appreciated. We promise to be fair, transparent, and accountable. Thank you for your support, and thank you for allowing us the opportunity to work with you and your children. This is our community and together we can do more and accomplish much.

Our theme for this year is O.N.E. Eagle. The acronym stands for Ozark Needs Everyone. This year, more than ever before will take every Eagle family member for our students to perform at their very best capabilities. I believe we can, and I believe we will rise to the occasion and SOAR like Eagles. Thank you for all that you have done and all that you continue to do for our children and community. Let’s have a great year!
