Degrees and Certifications:
Greetings to the entire Eagles’ family! Because we will be partners in your child’s education, allow me to introduce myself. I am Frederick Lowery, and I am excited beyond measure to step into my new role as the Assistant Principal at D.A. Smith Middle School! I am a native of Greenville, Alabama and a 1991 graduate of Greenville High School. I earned an Associate’s Degree from Lurleen B. Wallace Junior College and furthered my academic endeavors by earning both my Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science Degrees in History from Troy University. Soon after, I pursued and earned my Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership. In 2009, I received my Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. An interesting fact about me is that I did my internship here at D.A. Smith Middle School under the supervision of Mrs. Beachem and Mr. Jarman.
Currently, I reside in Troy, Alabama and am happily married to Dr. Lovett Osunde Lowery, an occupational therapist in our local area. Kenadi, our beautiful daughter, is excited to begin the third grade this year. Of course, I would be remiss if I failed to mention that I am a proud member of the outstanding fraternity, Omega Psi Phi, Inc., and I pastor one of the best churches in Alabama, Helicon Missionary Baptist Church in Grady, Alabama.
I have amassed twenty-three years of experience in the field of education. So, I am a true believer in a quote once stated by Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. I look forward to a great year at D.A. Smith and to meeting the students, parents, staff, and all who make up the Eagles’ family!
Let’s Go Eagles!
