Mrs. Georgia Curry

Greetings! My name is Georgia Curry, and I am a Jamaican native. My hobbies include reading and going on road trips with my husband Robert, and my daughter Abbey.

Seven years ago, I moved to Dothan from the Bahamas, where I had spent fourteen years teaching English and Literature to students of grades 7 through 12. Altogether, I have twenty-four years of experience as an educator, and I can truly say that this field is my passion. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to impact my students’ lives and by extension our society. One of my core beliefs is that a quality partnership between teachers and parents makes for a successful learning community.

My education includes a Teaching Diploma in Secondary Education (Linguistics and Literature), which I earned at Shortwood Teachers’ College in Kingston, Jamaica. I also have a BA in English/Professional Writing and a MA in English/Education, both of which I earned at Grand Canyon University in Arizona.

It is with much enthusiasm that I join Ozark City Schools and Carroll High School. I look forward to immersing myself in the community and working with our new freshmen in 9th grade English.
