The Ozark City Schools
Career Academies
The OCS Career Academy is comprised of ten smaller learning communities themed around the workforce needs of our community and the interests of our students. These communities, known as the academies, are located on both the Carroll High School and Career Center campuses located in Ozark, AL.
The goal of the program is to help students prepare for their future by developing an individualized plan for each student that provides relevant high school coursework aimed at preparing the student to be successful in college and/or their career.
Many of our students earn college credit before they graduate through our partnerships with Wallace Community College, Enterprise State Community College, Alabama Aviation, the University of Alabama, Auburn University, and Troy University. Through our designation as a Wallace Community College site location, students can even earn Short Certificates without ever leaving campus!
Instruction in the academies is provided through a simulated workplace model. Upon entering the academies, students become employees. They clock-in and out each day and serve in various roles typical of the industry focus of the academy.
Ozark City Schools believe in the ONEeagle mission of our students, schools, and community working together to ensure our students receive the very best education in the Wiregrass. I invite you to become involved in our academies as an industry or individual partner.
