Mr. Matthew Monson is a dedicated educator with a passion for fostering academic growth and nurturing student potential. With a strong educational foundation and extensive experience, Mr. Monson has proven himself to be a visionary leader in the field of education.

Mr. Monson's journey began at Auburn University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with a minor in Music. His passion for history led him to also obtain a Bachelor of Arts in History. Recognizing the importance of advanced leadership skills, Dr. Monson pursued further studies at Auburn University, earning a Master of Education in Educational Leadership in 2011. His commitment to excellence is evident in his ongoing pursuit of a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and Administration.

Mr. Monson's career as an educator has been marked by a steady progression of responsibilities. He began his teaching career in 2006, serving both Madison City Schools and Tallassee City Schools. His dedication to his students and his ability to inspire learning quickly led to administrative roles. In 2013, he was appointed Assistant Principal at Holy Spirit Elementary and Montgomery Catholic Prep High School. This experience provided him with valuable insights into school operations and the challenges and opportunities facing educators.

Mr. Monson's leadership skills were further honed when he was named Principal of Holy Spirit Elementary in 2014. His tenure there was marked by a commitment to creating a positive and supportive learning environment for students and staff. In 2016, Mr. Monson accepted the position of Principal at LAMP High School, where he has continued to make a significant impact on the school community. While under his leadership LAMP was consistently ranked as the top school in Alabama and as one the top 25 schools in the country every year of his tenure. 

Mr. Monson is married to Mandy, and together they have three children: Josiah, a Freshman at Carroll,  and Violet, who attends Vivian B. Adams. Mr. Monson is a respected educator and visionary leader who is dedicated to providing students with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed. His passion for education, combined with his strong educational background and extensive experience, make him a valuable asset to the field of education.
